A Little about this space

(The crossroads/pedestrian lanes of technology)

Goiânia January 2008 035

I guess since I started using technology to learn (back in 2006), I also started thinking in ways my students could use it,  too. I thought they could start using it not only to learn, but also to express themselves in a broader way. Somehow, I always wanted others to see what students are capable of doing. Their creativity has always impressed me and I saw that the web was a good way to showcase my students' talents.

One of these days, while we teachers were discussing issues related to using technology and taking students to the computer lab,  I said  that I usually took all my classes at least once a week to give them a chance to produce something using web 2.0 tools. Some teachers asked me how I managed to follow the syllabus and find time to do something extra and I said that I did not consider it "something extra" because I usually integrated web activities with the syllabus. That was when our colleague Simone (thanks a lot Simone) asked me why I did not create a space to share what I was doing so that others could try. So that is how this wiki was born. I hope it grows big and fulfills its mission of sharing tips on how to help students create content using web 2.0 tools.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

These are the activities for the levels I am teaching this semester.
